This semester you have been involved in a community-based field experience—a field experience that takes place outside the "official" school day.
Think about the challenges and triumphs you've had in this experience. How would you describe these?
What personal characteristics do you possess that have benefited you in taking on these challenges and triumphs?
What personal characteristics do you possess that have hindered you in taking on these challenges and triumphs?
Think of another situation working with adolescents where you can imagine your personal characteristics as advantageous/ disadvantageous. Discuss.
Describe the role you took in the classroom or in working with students. Give an example of how you worked with a particular student.
If you did take certain initiatives with the students, describe why you made the choices you did. Also, note how long you feel your interventions will be effective, how they were meant to help each student, and what evidence you observed that may indicate that the student made/ was making progress.
